Melo presents a unique  range of bold and beautiful pattern designs, emblazoned across luxurious velvet and durable wallcoverings. Each image begins life as a hand painted artwork, then shaped and embellished to create a colourful, kaleidoscopic and psychedelic world of pattern and movement. Distinctive, detailed with a hint of mystery and available by the metre.

Luiz Melo and Chris Kane created Melo in 2016 and specialize in surface designs with hand painted origins. Brazilian born Luiz is an artist and has exhibited and sold work in London, France and North America. Chris is a luxury interiors stylist and business manager. Combined they have over 26 years experience in luxury interiors & lifestyle markets working for both global and niche businesses.

Using an adapted marbling technique and digital technology, Melo have created their own unique style.  

We offer all  our original artwork printed on velvet by the metre and our wallcoverings by the square metre. Our prints are versatile and can add great impact to any interiors projects. Our designs have been used as incredible statement walls and upholstered furniture, luxury velvet cushions, lampshades, fine silk scarves and more.

“One of my earliest memories is being mesmerised by swirls of engine oil in puddles as I played on the country roads where I grew up in Brazil. I must have been just four or five. I loved those ever changing fluid lines and colours. I never forgot them and later in my life, I was inspired to try to recreate them with paint.” Luiz Melo
